CAPS was formed in 2007 to help provide teachers in the Atascadero Unified School District the extra financial support needed to offer important educational resources not otherwise available due to District budget restrictions. For nearly 20 years, CAPS has been working diligently to improve education for students by fundraising and providing grants to Atascadero public school teachers.
With the help of our generous sponsors, donors, and supporters over the years, we have been able to fund nearly $1 Million in grants to AUSD teachers for Field Trips, Musical Instruments, Marching Band Uniforms, Photo Book Projects, Battle of the Books, iPads, Pottery Wheel, Science Equipment, Outdoor Learning Options during COVID, Coding Software, and so much more.
We are a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization historically comprised of parents, educators, retired teachers, and community members, many of whom have retired. Our ability to continue enhancing the educational experience and opportunities of our public school students is at risk unless new volunteers step in to help us support AUSD students and educators.
